I'm saying that because Inkscape main interface is so similar as Coreldraw 12. Your work can only be save in SVG format but you have choices to export your illustration other than SVG including Illustrator .AI and .EPS. You can trace bitmaps, supports multi layer editing many more. But the features included isn't robust as CS3, but if you really need a vector based illustration, Inkscape is the right choice.
